Helpful Customer Reviews:
1. I ordered
this flat iron after reading some of the great reviews by other customers and
because it was significantly cheaper than the higher end straighteners out
there. But you truly get what you pay for with this product--a veritable piece
of crap. I was extremely disappointed by the overall quality of this flat iron.
The biggest issue is that the ceramic plates are not aligned correctly and do
not meet fully, so when the flat iron is clamped down the plates come together
at the top but gradually get further apart closer to the handle. This makes the
quality of the straightening suffer (I was not impressed by the straightening
ability of this flat iron whatsoever) as well as your hand hurt applying
pressure on the handle to try and get the plates to meet.
2. I've had this flat iron for over 2 years and I love
it. No shortages or anything! I've used it to make beautiful curls & to get
my hair bone straight. The plates are sooo much longer than any other flat iron
I've seen or used. Heats up in 15secs & cuts off after an hour, so I never
gave to worry when I'm rushing to school & forget to turn it off. It has a
long swiveling cord. I just love this l!
3. I needed a
flat iron to travel with, so I bought this sucker at Target. I already have a
Remington S9950 Shine Therapy Moisturizing and Conditioning Digital Ceramic
Hair Straightener, 1" (the blue one) and love it, and since I didn't see
that model in the store I bought this one. What a cheap piece of crap, it does
not compare in the least to my other one:
--This thing stinks, literally, when it's on. You will
think you forgot something on the stove.
--It says that it has floating plates (plural). That is
a lie. Only one plate floats and the other one is rigid. Also, you need to
really squeeze the iron hard to get both plate surfaces to meet completely.
Otherwise they only meet at the tip and snag your hair.
--The plates don't glide well to begin with and are
prone to snagging! (see above)
These are problems that I have never had with any other
flat iron. Ever. I don't care how much it costs, this is a piece of crap at any
price.
